THANKS FOR SHARING THE LOVE!

Here are some of the stories from those who have been Tipped Over by your generosity.

SOME TIPPED OVER STORIES

I was running around busy, and couldn’t quite get to this family of five. They were very patient with me. I have been having a bad week, and this made my day! Thank you!

Waited on two ladies that were extremely nice. Chatted with them for a bit. One check, which is alway nice. When she paid, she pretty much left me half her bill in a tip. So nice that people appreciate our hard work and let us know by over-tipping!!

I have been a hair stylist for 12 years. Until I had two out of four special needs children, I had absolutely no clue how difficult it is for these children to get their hair cut. Being a part of a network, I have and will continue to service these beautiful children. I was given a 100% tip ($10.00 tip on a $10.00 service), because I sat through a 64 minute melt down. I do it for my own children everyday, what makes this child of God different? Nothing! I have received bigger tips in my career, this I felt was the biggest blessing and the most worth it! I knew, at that point, I was doing what I was meant to do. Lastly, I am also a full time college student (stressful), I am delving into the social worker field, and want to work with special needs (also continue to do hair!).

I waited on a table, and they were genuinely the nicest people that I have ever waited on. They asked me if I was going to school, and I told them that I was studying Criminal Justice and that I am pursuing a career as a police officer. The gentleman at the table shared with me that he is a part time firefighter for Morris, and that his brother-in-law is an Illinois Conservation Officer. I usually never spend more than 5-10 minutes talking to a table due to the fact that I want my guests to enjoy their meals, but I spent about 20 minutes talking to this table. We exchanged some stories, talked politics, and eventually it was time for the check to be dropped off. A few minutes after I dropped the check off, I noticed that the table was empty. I grabbed the book to close the table out, and they left me a $50 tip on a $75 check, wrote a really nice note, and left the link to this website on the check. I have received a few other big tips in my serving years, but none of them have ever amounted to the way that I was treated by these awesome people. The only upsetting part about it was that I never got the chance to say thank you. So if you guys are reading this post…I want to say thank you. Thank you for everything. Not only the extremely generous tip, but also the way that you guys lifted my spirits up. Walking into a restaurant and making a difference in a person’s life is something that is extremely hard to do in today’s society, and you two did just that.

A couple of weeks ago we ate at the 50’s diner in the Metro Center. We had one of our regular waitresses. She is a single Mom and always fun. We decided to tip over on her. We also decided to give the bus boy a tip (we have done that before). Both were so touched. The waitress hugged us and thanked us. The bus boy was so surprised and beamed ear to ear. A little kindness goes a long way.
